There are many erroneous and contradictory concepts about Dyslexia, which can cause it to go unnoticed in childhood and become aware of this difficulty in adulthood.
It is often assumed that Dyslexia only affects reading and writing skills, while in reality it affects information processing in general, affecting areas such as memory and organizational skills for example.
